    Ron Strickland (born Ma ) is an American conservationist, long distance trail developer, and is the founder of the 1,mile (1, km) Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail (PNT) and of the proposed transcontinental Sea-to-Sea Route (C2C). He is the author of nine books including his memoir Pathfinder: Blazing a New Wilderness Trail in Modern America. The Pacific Northwest trail is a 1, mile route from the continental divide in Glacier National park to the western most point in the contiguous US, Cape Alava in the Olympic National Park. It’s still young and unestablished compared to more popular trails like the Appalachian Trail and Pacific Crest trail, which is why Alex Maier chose it.
